Senior R&D BRUSHLESS ELECTRIC MOTORS Engineer  

Renowned industrial company based near Barcelona needs a senior product engineer with proven experience in the mechanical design of Brushless electric motors for e-mobility or industrial applications.  

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage product development with other departments / subsidiaries of the Group from the concept phase till the SOP fulfilling cost, quality, and timing project goals. 

With the support of other areas of the organization, prepare the product technical specifications taking into consideration customer requirements, internal standards and product applicable regulations. 

Be up to date with the latest technologies applicable to e-mobility powertrains. 

Adapt and/or create the needed design standards for the development of Brushless motors for e-mobility. 

Provide project management guidance and business tools, using a systematic approach for project execution. 

Responsible to identify with the support of the Sales Team new business opportunities for the company of Brushless motors for e-mobility applications. 

Set engineering standards and be recognized as the source for guidance in the field. 

Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve product performances (Quality, Cost, Efficiency) 

Direct contact with customers to identify their needs and provide technical guidance to promote the products of the company. 

Identify technological partners to support the development of Brushless motors from the concept phase until the start of the product industrialization. 

Support Quality department during the product validation. 

Support Quality department for components homologation. 

Direct contact with the supplier base in collaboration with the Purchasing Department to clarify technical details during the supplier selection phase for new projects. And once assigned, for their supervision, control, tracking and validation of the contractual requirements. (Cost, timing, quality, capacity, safety). 

Continuous improvement of products based on production and customers’ feedback. 

Collaborate with other troubleshooting departments when needed. 

DFMEA Documents 

Definition of Design Validation Plan with the support of Project Quality Team. 

Feedback testing lab responsible with future products to identify in a very early phase potential need of new test benches. 

Follow up of action plans with the other team members 

       PREFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE TO FULFILL THE ROLE  

Qualifications – University degree in Engineering or similar. (Master or Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering). 

Minimum 5 years of proven experience of electric brushless motors development. 

Mechanical simulations proven experience. 

Very valuable previous experience with the design of gear box or transmission for electric motors. 

Fluent with CAD 3D tools (Creo would the preferred option). 

Languages: very fluent oral and written communications skills in spanish and english. 

Ability to work proactively leading teams and as an individual, taking responsibility. 

Managerial, technical & administrative skills required. 

Excellent organisational and communicational skills. 

Should be familiar with quality tools and systems: IATF16949, ISO14001.
